Fitness Leg Hit workout while Dieting

Wednesday Leg Hit

The week seems to be moving pretty fast and that’s a great! We love the weekends, even though we don’t take them off from training; we just have a bit more time to relax the bodies.  Today Serena De Vito and Jeremy Le Beau blasted legs in the gym… the water weight they put on from the weekend, has dropped off and the energy levels are getting lower.  This is the time to dig deep and focus on the desired results we both will achieve.  The weather is very warm outside and getting warmed up for a leg blast was pretty easy.  Our main focus on training legs today was to hit them as hard as possible, but to allow them to be recovering by Sunday, for our next leg hit.  Leg training really seems to take a bit of extra recovery measures and perhaps we will adjust our carbs up a bit, if we feel the need today.  However, we are really trying to keep cutting down, and will keep the calories as low as possible.

Serena and Jeremy both went pretty heavy with their squats, and kept up a good faster pace training… the reps with the heavy weight were kept lower, and as we lowered the weight, we increased the reps.  We trained with the free weights for about 40 mins before we hit the machines at the very end for 10mins.  We like to hit the free weights as much as possible, they seem to really hit our legs hard… the machines we find are a great way to isolate the specific muscle we want to hit, without having to worry about stabilizing the weight.  Most of the time, we blast the machines very fast, moving the weight up and down and rocking out several reps, with a strong focus on squeezing the muscles that we are hitting.  The free weights, we tend to go heavier and focus on handling the load of weight and keep the movements faster.

Exercises we hit today

Barbell Squats

Front Squats

Dumbbell lunge

Smith-machine Lunge

Leg Press (single)

Leg Press

Lying leg curl

Leg Extension

We never record are workouts and find this is the best way for us to make progress… we always have a general idea of what we can handle, but getting stuck on numbers, weight, sets and reps only seems to set limits for yourself.

Abs and calves training were skipped today; because we just wanted to focus on legs… we will hit cardio tonight (sprints) for about 30min.
